Biography
Luis Camplin is a Toronto-based performer with a background in theatre, dance, commercial acting, modeling, and live entertainment. His love for performing began by watching iconic dance music videos from artists like Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, Britney, and Usher. He would study the choreography recreate it at home with his sister and invite whoever was home to watch—igniting a passion that eventually led him to perform in school plays and talent shows, formal dance studio training, where he began developing the versatility and presence that define his work today.
With credits spanning major brands like Google, LEGO, Nissan, TD Bank, Molson Canadian, and the YMCA, Luis brings a compelling, fun presence on camera, matched by high-level professionalism and range.
Trained in Meisner technique, on-camera acting, and commercial performance, Luis seamlessly blends technical skill with emotional depth. His performance highlights include dancing alongside Canadian icon Simone Denny as a backup dancer, featured roles in CBC’s Free Up! Emancipation Day, and the Across the Pond tour with RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Lawrence Chaney and A’Whora. He has also appeared at Toronto World Pride, TD Irie Music Festival, and Dance Ontario Weekend, showcasing his adaptability on some of Canada’s most celebrated stages. Luis has had the privilege of working with Canada’s Drag Race resident choreographer, Hollywood Jade, and has choreographed and performed for large-scale productions with So Fierce Music and Royal Caribbean. His training spans jazz, hip hop, ballroom, and heels choreography—making him a dynamic artist with a strong command of movement and character work.
Now, Luis is excited to continue his training on camera classes in film where he’d like to deepen his exploration of storytelling and character-driven performance.
Beyond performance, Luis is committed to building an authentic community through his website and social media platforms. By sharing his personal and professional journey, he hopes to inspire others—especially those carving out their own path—that with a bit of research, reflection, and inner work, it’s possible to create meaningful progress and grow with intention.
